Satan is part ...Pagan and satanic are not the same. Satan is part of the Chrisyltian mythos, not part of European paganism. Either one feels the Rams skull is satanic, or pagan. One has nothing to do with the other. <br />Personally I think it is reference to the imagery of sacrifice, which is a very Christian idea. Christ is the sacrificial lamb with the crown of thorns above his head. Showing the skull is reference to bones which often represent that which cannot be destroyed. Referring to him as the jester may be a reference to how Jesus called out those who were in power in his own time. That's my thoughts on this piece. Called "Jester" in a post-modern nod to art being controversial on purpose, which I feel this work is doing. (Though I would like it if the old pagan religions were being portrayed as if suffering the Passion, but I don't think it would have been called "jester").
