How I found Goth and dark aesthetics
I love art and literature: I've been a book worm since I was a wee girl. I loved spooky fairy tales and horror stories. I've also been gothically inclined since I was about 7 years old. First, I wanted to be a witch when I'd grow up but when I turned 9, I wanted to be a vampire. That phase lasted 2 years. Vampires were so cool, I too wanted to be able to fly as a bat and live in some remote ruins of a castle and hang around with wolves.
As a kid I made a lot of drawings of vampires. For some reason, I thought it was very important that the vampires had split-end hairs, which looked like there were snake tongues growing from their heads. And every time their faces were smeared with blood, so apparently I thought that vampires were very messy eaters. Don't judge.
When I was a teenager, I found goth rock and metal music. I grew up in Finland, which is a country full of great metal bands, so it was not a surprise that I would be totally into the grim sounds of metal and goth rock. The rest, as they say, is history.
Accomplishments and serious stuff
I became a Master of Arts in comparative literature year 2016. In my Thesis, I researched contemporary grotesque in a French collection of short stories. So, I do possess a tiny bit of authority, when I write about literature or grotesque art.Even though this is a public blog, I myself am a rather private person. I won't share details of my relationships or of where I work. I never mention the names of my family members or of my friends. Unless of course, the friend too has a public blog, then it is a completely different matter.
This blog is not about my life but more about my personality and my interests. My personality reflects on how I write and of what I write. Not surprisingly, I write about things that interest me.
